SnowyWindOSX from Flash Drive
Another way to Install SnowyWindOSX Final with a USB Flash Drive
You will need this:
1. USB Flash Drive 8 Gb or more
2. Your laptop :)
3. Mac or Hackintosh with Disk Utility (to create bootable Flash Drive)
4. SnowyWindOSX.iso you can get here Demonoid, russian torrent or Megaupload
Installation Process
Making the bootable Flash Drive
1. Mount the SnowyWindOSX.iso.
2. Insert an 8gb or bigger flash drive.
3. Open Disk Utility.
4. Click on your Flash drive listed on the left side.
5. Click the Restore tab.
6. Drag/drop the mounted flash drive to the Destination field.
7. Drag/drop the mounted SnowyWindOSX, to the Source field.
8. Make sure the Erase Destination box is selected.
9. Click Restore.
10. After it finishes, install Chameleon 2 RC4 to the flash drive.
Getting your Wind Mac
11. Put the flash drive in one of the USB ports.
12. Power on your MSi Wind/Wind Clone and tap F11.
13. At boot menu choose your flash drive.
14. Once booted to the installer go through the normal prompts.
15. If you need to, set up your partitions in Disk Utility, which can be accessed under Utilities on the menubar. Bare in mind that if you want EFI booting you will need to choose GPT(GUID) partition scheme.
16. Choose the partition you want to install to.
17. Click install.
18. After the install Finishes reboot.
First boot of your Mac
19. The first boot will be slow. It has things to do. Once it is booted go through the prompts for setup as normal.
20. Once at the desktop go back into the SnowyWindOSX disk and open the Optional Installs folder. If you are on MBR open the MBR USERS folder and install the MBR.pkg. If you are on GUID open the BUID USERS folder and install the GPT.pkg. These packages take quite a while to run(5 minutes or so). These packages perform a cleanup that won't work from within the installer.
NOTE: Notice in each of those folders is an Update program. The version for GUID users is well known at this point. The one for MBR offers the same functions. Easy access to the Extra folder without the Terminal work, and easily patching graphics for system updates.
21. After installing either the MBR.pkg or the GPT.pkg you need to reboot, so that the system will be clean. bear in mind that this boot may be slower, because of the work that the packages did, but its ok.
22. Everything DONE. Congratulation, you have your new Wind Snow Leopard Mac!
Post Installation:
- Adjust your touchpad settings in System Preferences to your liking
- Sleep on lid close will not be working out of the box with SnowyWindOSX. You must use one of two methods to get it working- DSDT patching or ClamshellDisplay.kext. You can learn how to use both of these methods in the Mac OS X section of the InsanelyWind forum.

Moving from Windows to Mac OSX Leopard
Here is some programs i found very useful:
1. The Unarchiver is a useful utility that replaces standart MacOS archive program. The Unarchiver is software that works with much more archive formats and works with files created in Windows. It also works with non-English names of files. Some of supported file formats: zip, rar, 7z, tar, gzip, cab, msi, zoo, etc.
Download - 4.1 Mb
2. Transmission - Bit-torrent client. Transmission has the lowest memory footprint of any major BitTorrent client. Transmission is designed to for easy, powerful use.
Download - 5.2 Mb
3. VLC media player (initially VideoLAN Client) is a highly portable multimedia player for various audio and video formats (MPEG, DivX/Xvid, Go, and many more) as well as DVDs, VCDs, and various streaming protocols. However in recent years it has also become a extremely powerful server to stream live and on demand video in several formats to our network and the Internet.
Download from official website - 19 Mb
4. Mozilla Firefox - great web browser with different plugins. Because of them it is very popular.
Download from official website - 17.6 Mb

Mac OSX 10.5.8 to Lenovo S12
It is not hard to install MacOS to intel-based laptop. All you would need is:
1. External DVD-ROM
2. External USB keyboard and mouse (if you don't want update MacOS up to 10.5.8 you may not need it)
3. DVD with MacOSX86 - i used MSIWindosx86.iso (Google and download it)
4. Other programs that listed at the After installation troubleshooting
I have Lenvo S12 laptop with Intel GMA950 on it. So this tutorial works for this laptop and may would not be working for other.
What works
- internal speakers
- headphones out
- wi-fi
- bluetooth
- power management
- display - 1280x800
- keyboard, trackpad
- USB ports
Does not work:
- sleep mode
- web camera
Process of installation:
1. Burn your MSIWindOSX86.iso to DVD-R. I recommend to write on 4x or below speed.
2. Restart your laptop and hit Fn+F11. Choose external DVD-ROM and start installation. In installation menu you probably should use Disk Utility to prepare your hard drive for installation.
3. Wait until installation ends. Restart and enter your account information just like you would with a regular OSX install.
After installation troubleshooting:
1. Broadcom Wi-Fi cart needs setup. Here is script that can fix this problem - http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=51725, look for bcm43xx_enabler_0.5.3.sh.zip. Copy script file to your Desktop. Open Terminal and run
2. Update your MacOS to 10.5.8. You can get this update here . After rebooting your keyboard and mouse wouldn't work so use external.
3. Because of updating the wi-fi would not work and you need to run fixing script again.
4. Fixing keyboard and trackpad. Install CyberGreg's MSi OSX86 Upgrade Pack v1.5 from MSi_OSX86_Upgrade_Pack_v1.5.zip. Deselect 'audio' 'network' and 'trackpad'. You can download it here.
5. Fixing sound. I used VoodooHDA.kext.Here you can get it. Install VoodooHDA.kext using Kext Helper b7. Reboot and you will hear that your sound works now!
6. If you want Windows and MacOS running both on your laptop you need install Windows first and then - MacOS. After that, to make Windows working, simply install Chameleon 2.0 and you will be able to choose between two systems.
